Taking the title "Campot" from a local term which refers to the uppermost reaches of a sloping vineyard, this Dolcetto is a contemporary example of what the grape is able to achieve. The varietal’s typical acidity and tart berryish appeal melds with a lushness which is surprisingly modern considering the estate’s reverence for classical methods. Castello di Verduno (which has existed for 170 years) is owned by staunch traditionalists, the Burlotto Family, who have managed the property for four generations.
Serving Suggestion: Risotto with cotechino sausage and porcini mushrooms. Braised veal chop with gnocchi and truffle oil.
