Tabarrini Giampaolo, Rosso "Il Padrone delle Vigne", Montefalco, Umbria, Italy 2018
Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Barbera
BLACKBERRY & WILD CHERRY, OLIVE & HERBS, RIPE & MODERN
This Sangiovese-driven cuvée from Montefalco producer, Tabarrini, represents a youthful, intensely concentrated face of the variety and the iconic region’s output. Fresh, firm, and full-figured, its fruit-driven frame is interlaced with impressions of fleshy black olive and sweet tobacco with impressive tannic structure and acidity to support the hedonistic immediacy. Montefalco isn’t a usual suspect for Central Italian value, but this juicy delight delivers in spades.
Serving Suggestion: Tender pastured pork shoulder w/ garlic, prunes, & rosemary. Pasta w/ black truffle & cream sauce.
