Samling 88 (better known as Scheurebe) is a grape which was produced in 1916 through Dr. Georg Scheu’s crossing of Riesling and an as-yet-unknown variety. The resultant wines are aromatic, tropical, and often slightly herbaceous. Showing mango, guava, and hints of thyme wrapped up in a zesty, vibrant package, this is a favorite for those who like wines with exotic, extroverted aromas. Light, fresh, and relatively low in alcohol, it’s consummately friendly and refreshing.
Serving Suggestions: Grilled chicken skewers w/ bell pepper & pineapple. Spicy okra in tomato curry sauce. Baked pork w/ a mango & jalapeño glaze.
