HONEY, STONE FRUIT, AROMATIC, HERBS & CITRUS This winery is one of the oldest along the Moselle river. Donated by King Lothar II in the year 862 to Benedictine monks, it was acquired by an ancestor of the current owners in 1805. Despite having at least 1150 years of winemaking tradition behind them, and currently having three generations of the Klein family laboring together, the estate keeps up with modern times, shifting to organic growing practices in 2012 and consistently winning awards. Serving Suggestion: Roasted pork w/ apples. Spicy Dan Dan noodles w/ pork or tofu. Almost any cheese, including Feta, Gruyère, Maytag Blue, & Etxagarai.
