Altosur, Malbec, Tupungato, Mendoza, Aregentina, 2019
SOFT & FULL. TEA, DARK CHOCOLATE, LEATHER, BERRIES
At heights of close to 4,000 feet a vine produces some serious fruit, and unlike most Malbecs in this price range, it’s grown, produced, and bottled entirely by a small family winery. Harvested at dawn in the cool morning hours, it has fresh, lively flavors of plum and dark fruits, along with soft tannins and a kiss of oak. So much boldness and elegance for such a value!
Serving Suggestion: Carne asada tacos w/ avocado & cotija cheese. Baked bell peppers stuffed w/ rice & chorizo or cherry tomatoes & onions.
