While clearly a study in sulfite-free vinification, this is also simply a delightful journey into a lesser known corner of France’s sprawling Southwest. Bergerac can be seen almost as an extension of Bordeaux’s Right Bank, maintaining Merlot-centric priorities, providing us gorgeous examples of the venerable variety to enjoy. Moulin-Pouzy has been in the Castaing family for a century-and-a-quarter, combining tradition with contemporary techniques.
Serving Suggestion: Koji-rubbed steak & bibimbap-style crispy fried rice w/ scallions, zucchini, & mushrooms. Shiitake & sweet potato hash w/ arugula & quinoa.
