Cecil De Loach, with wife Christine, was almost singlehandedly responsible for codifying what is now known as sustainable farming in California. In 2003 he sold his eponymous winery, keeping this vineyard in the Russian River Valley to focus on small production wine. 90% of this luxurious Zinfandel comes from 100+ year-old vines. Sixteen months in American Oak gives it a personality as big, bold, gregarious, and patriotic as fireworks on the 4th of July.
Serving Suggestion: Charcoal grilled steaks, leg of lamb, or vegetables. BBQ pork ribs or chicken. Smoked cheeses, aged gouda, cheddar.
