Humble beginnings here in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley. In the estate’s early years, Cecil DeLoach continued working his day job as a firefighter in San Francisco as he and his wife Christine adjusted to their new lives as winegrowers with no background in farming or viticulture. They dived in, taking classes at UC Davis and receiving mentoring from neighboring vintners, emerging as leaders in the Russian River Valley movement. The Los Amigos Ranch is 122 acres in Chalk Hill; higher elevation and volcanic soils lend intensity and complexity, framing bold, brooding black fruit in refinement and opulence.
Serving Suggestion: Bacon-wrapped filet mignon w/ sweet potato mash. Slow-cooked venison chili. Sumac-spiced roasted chicken thighs with red plums.
