Dr. Heyden, Riesling Trocken GG “Oppenheimer Sacktraeger”, Rheinhessen, Germany 2021
{sustainable} Riesling (old vines)
APPLE BLOSSOM, SLATEY MINERAL, RAZORY & REGAL
The quality coming out of this relatively young estate is absolutely awe-inspiring. Dr. Karl Heyden and his wife Anita established the winery in 1999. Their son Frank is the current vintner and responsible for this picture-perfect GG (Grosses Gewächs, essentially Germany’s equivalent of the revered grand and premier cru classifications found in many French wine regions). Gleamingly glorious gold, tantalizingly racy mineral, and zesty citrus mingle with fresh stone fruit – truly the essence of opulence. The opulessence, if you will. And we think you will.
Serving Suggestion: M Sushi’s Unagi maki. Tofu, eggplant, & shiitake katiev (Cambodian noodle soup). Pollo a la Brasa w/ maduros.
