Restrained and subtle yet thoroughly comprised of exotic flavors, this beautiful offering from the northernmost reaches of Bordeaux’s right bank seems to revel in its wispy ghosts of hard-to-pinpoint complexities. Familiar Bordelais flourishes of Merlot’s mocha and plum character come through along with less expected reminiscences of hoisin sauce and hints of, as bizarre as it may sound, chocolate-covered bacon.
