Domaine des Gandines, Mâcon-Péronne Blanc, Burgundy, France 2024
{biodynamic} 100% Chardonnay
VOLUPTUOUS, RIPE ORCHARD FRUIT, TOAST, LEMON
Chardonnay’s name is likely traceable to an eponymous village in the Maconnais and, despite being largely overshadowed by the variety’s Cote-d’Or capitals like Meursault and Montrachet, picturesque southern Burgundy yields spectacular renditions of the grape. Assertively brimming with golden tree fruit, zesty lemon, flint, and toasted graham cracker vibes from six months in neutral oak barrels, it’s perfect as a companion for hearty, autumnal fare or simply swooning over.
Serving Suggestion: Roast partridge w/ pears, juniper berries, lemon, & white wine. Moravian chicken pie. Shallot & Gruyère quiche.
