In 2005 Damien Laurent returned to his parents’ winery, a single-vineyard chateau the family has owned since 1752. He’d had a successful professional ice hockey career until 2002, before going on to study oenology and viticulture like his wife, Lorena. His Chateau Bergey is a fantastic overperformer at an outstanding price. A classic Bordeaux blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a serious wine that can still regularly grace your table.
Serving Suggestions: Pork chops or turkey legs w/ chestnut, cranberry, & bacon stuffing & skin-on mashed potatoes. Walnut-lentil pâté w/ cumin, black pepper, & rosemary.
