Belle Pente, Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, Oregon 2014
ROUND PINEAPPLE & PEAR, MATURE YET LIVELY, ELEGANT
Few Chardonnays are built to age gracefully, and those that are tend to be prohibitively pricey, but this bottle is still drinking beautifully. In a local touch you won’t often see, they use 50% homegrown Oregon oak and 50% French oak, and the wine is not too oaky, since only 10-15% of the barrels are new. Harvesting in two waves allows the perfect balance between rich ripeness and fresh brightness.
Serving Suggestion: Creamy homemade mac & cheese w/ Firsthand Foods Country Breakfast sausage crumbles. Carrot salad w/ lemon-Dijon vinaigrette.
