“They were busy in the rows…..gardening at night” REM probably didn’t have a clue about Spanish Cava early in their career, but their prescient lyrics cover the eventide collection of the grapes in Avinyó’s delightful sparkler. Hand harvesting during the night, which means we get a fresh, bright, lightly fruited cava that begs enjoyment year-round. When Wine Authorities says ‘from farms not factories’, Avinyó is exactly what we mean – a seventh generation family making traditional-method wines that hasn’t caved to the pressures of the easy-money global wine market.
