Airfield Estates, Viognier, Yakima Valley, Washington State, 2024
{sustainable} 100% Viognier

WHITE PEACH, PEAR, JASMINE & MARZIPAN, TOASTY ALMOND
Washington state’s oldest AVA sees on average over 300 days of sunshine and less than six inches of rainfall a year, that’s right- we’re in the high desert country of Yakima Valley. Over a century ago, the estate’s humble beginnings as farmland purchased by their great-grandfather took an interesting turn when he leased a portion of the land to host a training facility for the Air Force at the beginning of WW2; it wasn’t until many years later that the first vines were planted on the estate in 1968, which today boasts over 800 acres and 20 different varieties under the current generation’s stewardship, brother and sister Marcus Miller and Lori Stevens.

Serving Suggestion: Pad Thai w/fresh lime juice, bean sprouts, & chopped peanuts. Couscous salad w/shrimp, cucumber, & feta. Macadamia-crusted chicken w/orange ginger sauce & coconut pilaf.
